Channel 4 to make UK 'Unan1mous'
Published Friday, Jun 2 2006, 07:14 BST | By Neil Wilkes
Channel 4 has landed the rights to make a British version of the reality series Unan1mous.
The broadcaster triumphed in what was believed to be a fierce bidding war amongst several UK terrestrials. The original US show was a breakout hit for Fox, attracting up to 20 million viewers each week.
In the series, a group of strangers are locked in a bunker until they reach a unanimous decision on which of them wins £1 million. Each week one contestant is eliminated from the running, while other incentives - including slashing the prize fund - are introduced to expedite their decision.
Channel 4 intends to air the 8 x 60' series some time within the next twelve months.
