Alan Partridge autobiography named 'I, Partridge: We Need to Talk About Alan'

Alan Partridge's new autobiography will be titled I, Partridge: We Need to Talk About Alan, Armando Iannucci has revealed.

The Oscar-nominated screenwriter confirmed the name on his Twitter feed. The highly-anticipated Partridge memoir will be released on September 29 through HarperCollins.

Steve Coogan's fictional TV personality and radio host promises to reveal all about his "fascinating past and an amazing future".

" Now single, Alan is an intensely private man but he opens up, for the second time, in this candid, entertaining, often deeply emotional - and of course compelling - memoir, written entirely in his own words," the publisher has teased of the book.

Partidge opted to write it himself, dispelling the notion of using a ghost writer. HarperCollins confirmed: "With a grade B English Language O-Level, he knew he was up to the task."

Fans will learn more about his "tragic Toblerone addiction", the "painful" moment unsold copies of his first autobiography were pulled and his relationship with ex-Ukrainian girlfriend Sonja.

"Alan Partridge's autobiography is now being printed," Iannucci (pictured left) told followers on the micro-blogging website.
