A breakfast television presenter has apologised after her choice of clothes caused public outcry.
The BBC started receiving complaints as soon as Breakfast host Kate Silverton hit screens in a green and yellow, psychedelic, blouse - and matching scarf.
The 35-year-old – formerly of The Heaven and Earth Show was prompted to make a public statement the next day.
"My blouse has divided opinion," she confessed. "I apologise if it has made you turn down the contrast on your set.
"It has divided opinion and I do apologise to those of you that hate it."
A corporation spokesman claimed: "It is usual to get feedback from viewers on whether or not they like what a presenter is wearing."
