BBC tsunami series provokes concern

The production of a BBC series about the East Asian tsunami has provoked some anger in Thailand.
The island's media have picked up on outcry at the project – a fictional mini-series about time after the 2004 disaster. Named Aftermath, it is a collaboration between the corporation and HBO.
Tour guide Sawitree Kulmat, a resident of the Andaman coast, where the drama is being shot, said the idea was "unbelievable". "Why are they doing this? We can't believe it. Nobody wants this," she commented. "It's too early. Everybody is trying to forget."
The series – starring Oscar-winning actor Tim Roth and Australian Toni Collette – will look primarily from the perspective of Western tourists. It is reportedly set to air on BBC Two later this year.
