Amanda Platell's damaging secret video of Michael Portillo drew extra viewers to C4 on Sunday night, early figures show.

Unspun: Amanda Platell's Secret Diary averaged 1.4m (9%) between 18.45 and 19.30. The same number tuned to a C5 Home and Away Special over an hour starting 18.00.

An evening of extended Coronation Street episodes also bode ITV well. A 60-minute special at 19.30 pulled 13m and a 61% share. At 21.30, 12.3m (51%) tuned in.

The audiences boosted ITV's 19.00-22.30 peaktime share to 47.5%, compared with BBC1's 20%.

Earlier in the day, ITV's British Grand Prix coverage averaged 3.6m (38%) between 12.00 and 15.30, peaking at 13.00 with 4.9m.

On Friday evening, BBC1 drama The Cazalets was down 1.1m to 3.8m (18%), beaten by a C4 double-bill of new Friends with 4.7m (22%).
