Louie Spence: 'Pineapple Dance Studios spin-off was crap'

Following Sky1's decision to axe the popular docusoap after one series, the choreographer landed new show Louie Spence's Showbusiness. It ran for 10 episodes earlier this year.
However, Spence admitted that the new format had not been well received, telling The Sun that even his mother had to switch it off.
"Pineapple and Sky couldn't get it together for another series so they called the show after me as I was the link with the first series. But you know what - it was crap. And I told them that."
Spence continued: "My family watched it - and they are what I call everyday people - and my mum rang me and said, 'Oh I'm sorry Louie, I had to turn over. We didn't understand it'.

Spence said that the "special" inside look at the dance studio had been "of the moment", explaining: "It was unique. I don't think you could recreate it. The magic would run dry."
The 42-year-old has now filmed a Broadway-based version of the show.
Spence said: "They just put me in a dance studio and said, 'What do you want to do?'. It was great.
"I did all the stuff I did on Pineapple, hang around with the dancers, the cleaner. Everyone."
