ITV has unveiled its new £6 million drama documentary Prehistoric Park.
The six-part series - two years in the making - follows naturalist Nigel Marven as he travels back in time to rescue exotic creatures from the brink of extinction.
CGI technology is employed to create the animals, which range from the T Rex to woolly mammoths and a dinosaur-eating crocodile. Narration is provided by David Jason.
"We are thrilled to bring this exciting series to ITV," said Alison Sharman, controller of factual. "It will be compulsive viewing for the whole family and thanks to the technology available it will bring history to life for all our viewers."
In a potentially risky move, the show will air in an early evening slot on Saturdays from the end of the month.
