Charley Bird and Lucy Texeira, who previously told Digital Spy about their ambition to front a chatshow, will present updates from This Morning's The Hub during next Friday's episode of the magazine show.
The Hub, which features regular presenters including Coleen Nolan and Matt Johnson, is the show's interactive base from which viewer comments on stories and guests are read out.
Taking a break from his usual duties, former OK! TV presenter Johnson will step in to co-host the main show alongside Kate Thornton.
"I love presenting The Hub, but to get out in to the main studio and present with a lovely lady like Kate is fantastic," he said. "I can't wait for next Friday."
Thornton said of returning to the programme: "I first worked on the show when Richard and Judy presented it over ten years ago as a showbiz reporter with Claudia Winkleman and seem to keep coming back in one guise or another over the years, so I really feel at home on This Morning.
"Since then I've hosted the show quite a lot, which is a dream because of the diversity of the content and the many hats you have to wear during your two hours on air."
The former Loose Women anchor added: "One of the last times I was on we featured a female pensioner who was starting out in her 60s as a Michael Jackson tribute performer! You never know what you'll be walking into when you arrive at 8am - and there's not many shows that challenge you like that."
Eamonn Holmes and Ruth Langsford will present This Morning next Monday to Thursday from 10.30am on ITV1, while Johnson and Thornton will take over for the Friday edition.
