Gary Rhodes has launched a hunt for the UK's "ultimate local food hero".
The search - described as a "tribute" to Britain's independent shops, farm stalls, cafes and pubs - will air as a series on the UKTV Food channel from November.
The public is being encouraged to log on to the station's website to nominate and vote for their own local food heroes.
Channel head Paul Moreton said: "This campaign will reach every corner of the UK as we search out unsung food heroes - those people who go the extra mile to produce outstanding British fare."
