McCririck almost quit celeb 'Wife Swap'
Published Tuesday, Jul 18 2006, 10:45 BST | By Daniel Kilkelly
John McCririck locked himself in his bedroom while taking part in a celebrity edition of Wife Swap.
The racing pundit - well known for his misogynistic views following his Celebrity Big Brother appearance in 2005 - said goodbye to wife 'Booby' for the show and was joined by ex-Tory MP Edwina Currie.
McCririck missed the World Cup after Currie banned him from watching television, and was instead forced to try cooking and cleaning under his new wife's rules.
Producers intervened after John refused to leave his bedroom for six hours and had to be begged to continue with the show.
A friend of Edwina's told the Daily Star, "She thought Wife Swap would be a hoot but it turned into an utter nightmare."
