The actress, who has previously starred in shows such as Green Wing and Miranda, will appear in the series alongside The Armando Iannucci Shows' Darren Strange.
The duo will play a married couple with two teenage children who are forced to move in with their parents, played by Susie Blake and Tom Conti.
Sky's head of comedy Lucy Lumsden said: "We've been on the hunt for smart comedies about family life for Sky1 HD and feel we have found it with Parents. We're very excited about the cast we've managed to attract and can't wait to start production."
Sky1 has recently increased its investment in comedy, with shows such as Spy and Trollied being renewed after successful first series.
The broadcaster is also currently developing Moone Boy, a semi-autobiographical show starring Chris O'Dowd.
Filming for Parents will begin in March and it will air on Sky1 in the summer.
