'Downton Abbey', 'Inbetweeners' win Broadcast Awards

Downton Abbey and The Inbetweeners were among the winners at last night's Broadcast Awards 2012.
The shows won 'Best Drama Series or Serial' and 'Best Comedy Programme' respectively, beating off competition such as Misfits, The Hour, Miranda and Friday Night Dinner.


Downton Abbey's production company Carnival Film & Television also took home a prize at the ceremony, which was held in London last night (February 2).
Dynamo: Magician Impossible, which was renewed for two more series yesterday, triumphed in the 'Best Entertainment Programme' category despite competition from shows such as Strictly Come Dancing, Celebrity Juice and The Only Way Is Essex.
Elsewhere, The Trip was named 'Best New Programme', Coronation Street was victorious in 'Best Soap/Continuing Drama', and 'Best Single Drama' went to ITV1's Appropriate Adult.
Other winners on the night included Rastamouse, Our War and The Indian Doctor, while the prestigious 'Channel of the Year' prize went to Sky1.
