'Take Me Out's Damion Merry: 'I've had death threats'

Take Me Out contestant Damion Merry has revealed that he has received a number of death threats since his infamous appearance on the dating show.

The 27-year-old model insulted many potential partners during his appearance on the ITV series, and eventually landed a date with reluctant contestant Chelsea Stewart.

However, sources have since claimed that he was already engaged to girlfriend Sarah Ann Gras when he filmed the episode in November, and they have since tied the knot.

"I've had death threats, matches through the post box and petrol cans left on my car," he told Metro.

On the claims that he was already engaged before taking part in the episode, he said: "As for being engaged and with her during the show, [the allegations are] disgusting.

"From the audition process to filming takes seven months and I know for a fact that many were in relationships. I'm sick to the stomach of how this has all come to play - I'm a nice guy and a family man.

"Going on the show made me realise what type of girl I wanted and this is why I'm with my current partner. I deserve to be happy."

He added that his date Chelsea Stewart is a "lovely girl" and that he has received support from other girls on the show.

"I know some of the decent girls from the show have set up a #teamdamion campaign as they now know the decent side of me," he said.

"Even Chelsea, who the drama began with, has proven to be a really lovely girl and I wish her all the success and happiness in her future."
