Executive producer Armando Iannucci revealed the news on Twitter, responding to a fan's query about the BBC Two show.
"Yes! The BBC have commissioned 2 more series of Stewart Lee's Comedy Vehicle," Iannucci wrote.
The British Comedy Award-winning stand-up's critically acclaimed series began in 2009. A second run followed last year.
The 43-year-old is currently touring his new stage show Carpet Remnant World, which concludes in August.
Chris Morris acted as script editor for last year's Comedy Vehicle shows, while Iannucci appeared on screen in spoof interviews with Lee.
