Corden, Bishop, Carr race F1 for 'A League of Their Own' - pictures

James Corden, John Bishop and Jimmy Carr do battle in a Formula 1 race in tonight's episode of A League of Their Own.

The trio attempt to achieve the fastest lap at Silverstone in vehicles that reach top speeds of more than 220mph and cost £500,000 each.

They received just one day of training from Mark Heinz of the Marussia F1 team, who taught Lewis Hamilton to race.

Although Corden could only drive automatic, Carr soon proved himself to be the biggest worry on the track with his dangerous driving.

In the studio, Corden revealed: "Jimmy was so reckless that the instructor refused to get back in the car with him.

"He also said if this was just a regular track day and we weren't filming, Jimmy would have been sent home by now."

Bishop relished the experience, saying after his lap in a single seater practice car: "That was unbelievable. Someone's going to have to phone my wife up and tell her sex is gone now. There's no point in doing anything else."

However, on race day all three were terrified of stepping into a Formula 1 car, with Bishop admitting that he was "proper, proper s**tting [him]self" and Corden explaining that his "main tactic is to not die".

Find out who managed the fastest lap in A League of Their Own, tonight (April 27) at 9pm on Sky1.
