'Torchwood' up against 'Prime Suspect'
BBC Three's new Torchwood series will debut on Sunday 22nd October with back-to-back episodes from 9pm, opposite the final Prime Suspect on ITV.

Recent reports suggested that there would be a simultaneous broadcast of the first episode on BBC One, but that has been quashed. Instead, the Cardiff-based Doctor Who spin-off will have a weekly terrestrial repeat on BBC2 on Wednesday nights.

Two of Torchwood's main characters were featured in the first series of the revived sci-fi show - Captain Jack Harkness (John Barrowman) and Toshiko Sato (Naoko Mori). Actress Eve Myles also appeared alongside Christopher Eccleston and Billie Piper, but in a different role.

A trailer for the post-watershed series further highlights the extent of the crossover with its parent show, as a Cyberwoman can be clearly seen in several shots.

A behind the scenes show called Torchwood De-Classified, much in the vein of Doctor Who Confidential, will accompany the show.
