Family Guy returned for brand new episodes with 1.55m (7.5%) and 1.6m (8.9%) from 10pm, then viewers stuck around for old episodes of fellow Seth MacFarlane sitcom American Dad, which amused 1.12m (7.5%) and 895k (8.2%).
With classic Family Guy also performing with 877k (3.7%) and 1.08m (4.6%) in the 9pm hour, BBC Three enjoyed its best night of 2012 so far with an average primetime share of 3.9%.
The Only Way Is Essex anchored ITV2's schedule with 913k (4.8%) at 10pm, adding a further 220k on +1. A Benidorm repeat logged 725k (3.1%) at 9pm (+1: 135k), helping ITV2 to an impressive primetime share of 3.3% (+1: 0.4%).
Desperate Housewives grabbed 699k (3.9%) on E4 for its latest edition - 'Lost My Power' - at 10pm.
Steve Coogan-produced Sky1 sitcom Starlings stayed steady with 462k (2%) at 8pm, after which 561k (2.4%) tuned in for another instalment of Hawaii Five-0.
