The model gave a kiss-and-tell story to the tabloids about Cowell earlier this year, claiming that she was upset to have been left out of Tom Bower's unauthorised biography Sweet Revenge: The Intimate Life of Simon Cowell.
Douvall's tabloid revlations included claims that she once had sex with Cowell 11 times in one night.
Speaking to Digital Spy about what attracted her to the Syco boss, she said: "I think he's got a charisma. He's cool. He's in touch with his feminine side. You feel very comfortable around him.
"You feel like you can be his best friend straight away with Simon. He also treats people really well.
"He used to open doors for me and take me to nice restaurants. He's very gentlemanly. I think every girls goes for guys with that gentlemanly charm."
Commenting on the fall-out from her revelations, she added: "Simon was very unhappy about the stories, but he knows why I did it.
"I'll always have a soft spot for Simon Cowell. He'll always have a place in my heart. We'll always be friends."
Alicia Douvall's one-off documentary Glamour Model Mum, Baby & Me, which follows Douvall's life as a single mother with two daughters, is on BBC Three on Tuesday, June 12 at 9pm.
