'Sea of Souls' returns in supernatural trio

Filming is currently underway in Scotland on a trilogy of supernatural dramas that includes the return of Sea of Souls to BBC One.

David Kane, the creator of Sea of Souls, will write the new two-part special that will see Bill Patterson reprise his role as Professor Douglas Monaghan. The show was last on our screens in February of this year.

Empathy, by No Angels writer Steve Lightfoot, is reportedly the story of a former convict with paranormal visions that help the police investigate a murder.

Rounding off the trilogy is Life Line by Stephen Gallagher, who penned Chimera and Eleventh Hour. This is reported to be a supernatural love story.

Anne Mensah, BBC Scotland's Head of Drama, says: "It is so exciting to be part of the launch of such original material. Each film is slightly supernatural in flavour and very modern but also wonderfully distinctive, which means they will be a real treat to watch when they are broadcast next year."
