Primetime slots for comedians Hill and Brand

By
Channel 4 is to revamp the debate-format show Russell Brand's Got Issues following a drop in ratings.

A new 5 x 45-minute chat, music and comedy format called The Russell Brand Show will air from November 24 at 11pm, going head-to-head with Friday Night with Jonathan Ross on BBC One.

The E4 series, which began on September 12, attracted just 164,000 viewers to its first show, with ratings dropping over the course of the series.

On ITV1, Harry Hill is to get his own weeknight topical news show as a follow up to Harry Hill's TV Burp. The 30-min pilot is being made by Avalon Television, and will be recorded in front of a studio audience at the end of the month.

ITV director of entertainment and comedy Paul Jackson told Broadcast: "Harry has built a great following with TV Burp – he's an established ITV name and we are looking forward to working with him on the new pilot."
