ITV searches for 'Viewer of the Year'

ITV is looking to find the UK's biggest couch potato in a new one-off gameshow.

In Viewer of the Year, hosted by Kate Thornton, fifty of the country's most obsessed viewers will battle it out for a £50,000 cash prize.

"We'll take a look back at the very best of the TV highlights from the last year," Thornton explained to Digital Spy. "Ultimately the stars of the show are the viewers taking part, one of whom will walk away with £50,000. Not a bad return for watching loads of your favourite TV shows!"

Of her own TV highlights, she added: "The brilliant Onkar Judge on The X Factor (his knees will never be the same again!), Lost, 24 (the most brilliant drama on television), Curb Your Enthusiasm and Steve Merchant's performance on Extras. A star is born!"
