According to The Sun, Frank - played by David Threlfall - will have his benefits taken away when the comedy-drama returns.
"Everyone's amazed when Frank gets a job - especially Frank," a source told the paper. "He's been on disability allowance since 1997!"
It has also been claimed that Frank will be seen writing a CV for the Job Centre detailing a colourful employment history.
"Frank's jobs range from sewer maintenance technician's assistant to being a roadie for Oasis," the insider continued. "Despite him dragging his heels, though, he does get a job in a fried chicken restaurant.
"Anyone who complains is going to get a little extra surprise in their meal to make up for any inconvenience caused."
Shameless is expected to return to Channel 4 later this year.
