If popular, the special - titled Verry Terry - is expected to be followed by a full series.
"Kayvan is an extremely fertile and versatile character comedian with awesome powers of improvisation," said Channel 4's Head of Comedy Shane Allen. "Terry Tibbs is a brilliant invention and we are delighted to encourage Kayvan's growth as a major force in British comedy."
Novak himself added: "This show is going to be the bee's balls."
Verry Terry has been commissioned as part of Funny Fortnight, which will feature two weeks of new Channel 4 comedies throughout August.
