Steve Coogan's comedy character has been given a new six-episode run following his days at fictional radio station North Norfolk Digital.
The first series originally aired online as part of Fosters' Funny series, before arriving on Sky Atlantic in a re-edited six-part series in June.
Partridge also fronted a special one-off documentary Welcome to the Places of My Life, which became Sky Atlantic's highest-rated original commission so far.
"Alan Partridge has been a huge hit for Sky Atlantic, opening our Monday night comedy strand, and I'm delighted we can bring his talents exclusively to Sky customers," said Sky Atlantic's acting director Naomi Gibney.
Filming of the second series has now begun. Executive producers of the project are Coogan, Armando Iannucci and Baby Cow's Henry Normal.
Normal added: "A second series of Mid-Morning Matters direct for Sky Atlantic. Alan's fortunes have finally turned."
The Alan Partridge Movie has also been confirmed for release in the UK on August 16, 2013.
