The pair were joined by executive producer Caroline Skinner at the Ziegfeld Theater where episode one of season 7 was presented to the audience.
Arriving in a vintage Delorean car, Smith and Gillan were greeted by photographers and giggled as they posed for pictures and signed autographs for the waiting fans.
After the screening there was a Q&A session hosted by Nerdist presenter Chris Hardwick.
