Report: Langham banned from comedy awards
Published Tuesday, Dec 5 2006, 11:51 GMT | By Ben Rawson-Jones
Chris Langham has reportedly been banned from attending the British Comedy Awards event next week because of his impending trial for child sex charges.
The actor played the lead role in The Thick Of It - nominated for Best Comedy - but The Sun claims he will not be allowed to attend the ceremony. Since his initial arrest in December 2005 for the alleged offences, he has maintained his determination to clear his name and was present at this year's BAFTA Awards in May to collect an award for Best Comedy Performance.
57-year-old Langham is due to face trial in February next year. Most recently, he was charged with eight counts of indecent assault at Maidstone Crown Court in late November.
