The Jack Whitehall sitcom, which also features Green Wing's Michelle Gomez and Sarah Solemani of Him & Her, received the highest ratings for a new comedy in BBC Three history and was re-commisioned for a second series after just two episodes had aired.
Speaking on today's (September 5) edition of ITV1's This Morning, Horne declared: "It has been incredible and we're all thrilled and quite shocked really.
"It was a huge risk doing a show like that, but the response has been absolutely fantastic."
Horne also joked about his contempt for Whitehall and the success the Fresh Meat comedian has continued to enjoy.
"I really hate him. He's done an incredible job," the former Gavin and Stacey star stated. "He's learnt his craft really well and I think he's brilliant.
"To do Fresh Meat as an actor and then write and star in his own show... I don't even wanna talk about him anymore."
Bad Education continues Tuesdays at 10pm on BBC Three.
