The former Coronation Street actress, who played killer Katy Harris, was terrified by the incident which occurred while making the drama in South Africa.
"I was attacked by a big male elephant called Bully. He threw me against a fence with his trunk and bashed me with his trunk and his tusks were in my back. It was very scary," Lucy-Jo told The Sun.
"I didn't mind him last year but this year he was having teenage tantrums and he scared the life out of me. I was walking along a path where I probably shouldn’t have been when it happened as elephants are very territorial.
"The wrangler said he was just playing, teasing me, but because he was big he did bruise me."
