The pair, who played the soap's Jim Branning and Laura Beale, will compete in the television singing competition from January 2. It will see the celebrities sing alongside professional singers including Sarah Brightman, Marti Pellow and Tony Christie.
Also starring in the show will be Blue Peter presenter Janet Ellis, reality star Brendan Cole, cricketer Mark Butcher, Julia Bradbury, from Watchdog, Casualty's Luke Bailey, Masterchef Gregg Wallace and Hollyoaks' Lou Batley.
"John once won an Olivier Award for Kiss Me Kate, so he's likely to be rather good," a source told the Daily Mirror.
