'Great British Bake Off': The Final Three - who should win?

By
After battling through soggy bottoms, dodgy crème pât and chopped fingers, James Morton, Brendan Lynch and John Whaite have reached the Great British Bake Off final.

The trio - who have very different styles of baking - will go head-to-head next Tuesday to take home the crown of Britain's best amateur baker. But who deserves to win?

Brendan Lynch has soared throughout the competition, wowing with attention to detail and immaculate presentation. His only potential downfall? His dalliances into a questionable retro '70s style have caused some headaches for the judges.

James Morton is the maverick of the final three, who is never afraid to throw a chili or five bottles of whiskey into a simple sponge to spice things up a bit. When things go right, he creates masterpieces. When things go wrong, he creates a big mess.

And finally there is John Whaite. He sneaked into the final by the skin of his teeth, but he has shown glimpses throughout the competition of bakery magic. When he doesn't let his emotions and hair flopping get the better of him, he remains a contender.

The Great British Bake Off final airs on Tuesday, October 16 at 8pm on BBC Two.
