FremantleMedia Enterprises has announced the acquisition of two US drama series from Blueprint Entertainment, which it will showcase at the Cannes MIPTV festival in April.
The 13-part series Love You To Death stars John Waters (director of Pink Flamingos, Hairspray, Cry-Baby) in his television series debut as the 'Groom Reaper', and tells the twisted, inspired-by-reality tales of spouses who have killed their loved, or not-so-loved ones. The series will debut in spring 2007 in the US on Court TV and Global Television in Canada.
In association with CanWest MediaWorks' Global Television in Canada and The N, the night-time network for teens, The Best Years follows a group of friends through college life and is created and executive produced by Aaron Martin, award-winning writer on Degrassi: The Next Generation.
John Morayniss, chief executive of BluePrint Entertainment, said: We are thrilled to be in business with FremantleMedia Enterprises on both of these live-action scripted drama series. FME has shown a huge amount of enthusiasm and passion for both of these series and we are incredibly impressed with their sales team."
David Ellender, chief executive of FremantleMedia Enterprises, said: "We are thrilled to be launching both at MIPTV, giving broadcasters from around the world the chance to be the first on board with what will be very highly-prized additions to any schedule line-up for 2007."
