ITV picks up Titchmarsh talk show

By
Alan Titchmarsh will host a daytime chat show on ITV from the Autumn, it has been confirmed.

ITV has picked up 40 hour-long episodes of the Spun Gold-produced show. Nick Bullen will executive produce.

"My BBC work will continue but I have always enjoyed new challenges in my life and am very excited about the opportunities this new programme will offer," said Titchmarsh. "The chance to meet and talk with people from all walks of life – both the famous and the less well-known ‘national treasures’ – is something I have always enjoyed, and the opportunity to be back in 'live' television with a mixture of music, the arts and conversation is irresistible. I’m looking forward to it enormously."

ITV's director of factual and daytime Alison Sharman said that the new show will see Titchmarsh reprise his presenting role from Pebble Mill.

"Alan is a TV legend who has become established as one of the nation’s favourite TV personalities," said Sharman. "We’re delighted that he’s coming to ITV to host this new daytime series. He cut his presenting teeth at Pebble Mill and this new show will give him the chance to reprise this role with a brand new format for our audience. The Alan Titchmarsh Show will be a daily mix of music and conversation featuring famous faces and people making the headlines. We will also be exploring opportunities with Alan to branch out and work on peaktime projects."
