The American sitcom soared to 1.37 million (a 5.8% share) at 8pm, gaining 100,000 viewers on last week's show, while Juice's Little Mix special entertained 1.34m (7.6%) and 184k on timeshift.
Elsewhere on the multichannels, ITV4's Europa League football averaged 1.25m (6%), David Attenborough's First Life interested 674k (2.9%), and Russell Howard's Good News amused 662k (2.9%) on BBC Three.
Over on BBC One, Young Apprentice climbed to 3.28m (14%) in the 8pm hour, after which Who Do You Think You Are? with John Bishop entertained 4.84m (21.7%).
Channel 4's screening of Kirstie's Vintage Home managed 1.26m (5.4%) at 8pm (+1: 149k), then Jamie and Jimmy's Food Fight Club served up 1.43m (6.4%) at 9pm (+1: 168k).
MasterChef: The Professionals (2.68m/11.5%) and Great Continental Railway Journeys aired on BBC Two, while World's Strongest Man (816k/3.5%) and Cowboy Builders (885k/4%) anchored Channel 5's schedule.
Overall, BBC One topped primetime with 20.9%, ahead of ITV1's 16.4% (+1: 0.5%). BBC Two earned third place with 7.4%, beating Channel 4's 4.8% (+1: 0.7%), and Channel 5's 3.7% (+1: 0.2%).
