Since its launch in 2008, the pay-TV channel has grown 82%.

Jill Offman, MD at Comedy Central UK said: "The popularity of Comedy Central has been gratifying to our hard-working team. We are especially proud of the success of Threesome. Watch for continued development of our home-grown comedies in 2013 along with a dynamic new web-based initiative."

New original UK comedies launching on the channel in 2013 include Stewart Lee's Alternative Comedy Experience and Blake Harrison's Big Bad World.

The channel's big US hits in 2012 were Charlie Sheen's Anger Management, which had the broadcaster's biggest ever launch figures, and the return of Jon Stewart's award-winning Daily Show to British TV.
