BBC One's 'Restless' loses 700,000 viewers

BBC One's Restless fell to 4.9 million viewers for its finale on Friday night.

The spy thriller, which premiered with a strong 5.6m on Thursday, still won its slot with an audience share of 21.7%.

However, ITV's new edition of It'll Be Alright on the Night! proved a decent competitor, pulling in 3.73m (16.2%) and 342,000 on +1.

Channel 4 enjoyed a fruitful evening with The 50 Funniest Moments of 2012 logging 1.53m (7.2%) between 9pm and 11pm, while World's Most Dangerous Roads (1.9m/8.3%) and QI (1.42m/6.9%) aired on BBC Two.

Elsewhere, 5's showing of World's Strongest Man appealed to 1.24m (5.4%) at 8pm, then The Mentalist took 1.11m (4.8%) .

Overall, BBC One led primetime with 19.1%, ahead of ITV1's 18% (+1: 1%). BBC Two claimed third place with 7.6%, while Channel 4 averaged 6.4% (+1: 0.8%), and Channel 5 had 4.1% (+1: 0.4%).

BBC Four's The Richest Songs in the World was the most-watched multichannel offering with 923k (4.1%).
