Clarkson comes under fire in Malaysia
Published Friday, Apr 6 2007, 12:55 BST | By Matthew Houghton
Jeremy Clarkson has come under fire in Malaysia for naming one of the country's cars the worst in the world.
The Top Gear host was filmed attacking the Perodua Kelisa with a sledgehammer and then blowing it up.
Expressing his frustration with the car both on his TV show and in the programme's magazine, he suggested that it appeared to have been built in jungles by people whom wear leaves for shoes.
However, the country's parliament defended both the car manufacturer and the model, saying that the Kelisa had not received a single complaint from the UK market.
According to the BBC, one minister dismissed Clarkson's opinion comparing him to a football commentator who can not play football.
