The actor, who has twice been nominated for a Golden Globe Award, admitted that he is a huge fan of Ricky Gervais and is hoping to be approached for the forthcoming one-off special which will end the series.
"I love Ricky. He is amazing," Ferrell said. "He hasn't approached me to do Extras - at least not that I know of. I would do it if he asked."
