Alan Davies: 'Snow interrupted Jonathan Creek filming'

By
Alan Davies has revealed that filming on the new episode of Jonathan Creek had to be halted because of the snow.

Speaking backstage at the National Television Awards after picking up a gong for QI, Davies explained that production had been "hampered" by the weather.

"We've lost days filming by the snow," he said.

"I've got to go [on set] tomorrow morning, really early. And I should really be wielding this [award] in some seedy nightclub, but I can't do that!"

Davies added: "It is ridiculous. Sheridan Smith has to have someone with a bag of rock salt spraying it in front of her wherever she walks."

However, Davies refused to reveal too many clues about what viewers can expect from the Easter special, which is titled 'The Clue of the Savant's Thumb'.

"There's a dead body in a room," he said. "And Joanna Lumley's in it. And Rik Mayall's in it. And it's very good!"
