Takeaway has been on hiatus since 2010 with the presenters opting to focus on new projects such as family game show Push The Button and Red or Black?.

However, neither format matched the ratings or success of Takeaway and the pair have admitted that they're "very excited" to be working on it again.

"I find myself smiling every time we talk about it, it's looking like great fun," said Dec.

Takeaway is a traditional British Saturday night entertainment series with celebrity guests and regular features such as Win The Ads and Ant v Dec.

Earlier this month, Ant & Dec were awarded the National TV Award for 'Entertainment Presenter' for the 12th consecutive year.

The pair, who won the award for their work on Britain's Got Talent and I'm a Celebrity, beat Dermot O'Leary, Keith Lemon and Alan Carr to the title.
