Sir David Jason is to play a wizard in Sky One’s The Colour of Magic.
The Only Fools and Horses star will take the role of Rincewind in the Terry Pratchett adaptation.
It follows his appearance in a television version of the author's Hogfather which won a BAFTA for its special effects. And Sir David has promised the upcoming outing will be even better than the last.
He told The Sun he would also be an executive producer on the one-off and added: “I liked Hogfather, but The Colour of Magic is better.”
The star also said a big-name US actor was due to be announced as his co-star and commented that he would like to see the Discworld adaptations continue.
