David Attenborough talks to blind baby rhino in 'Africa' - watch video

David Attenborough's epic Africa series concluded on BBC One last night (February 6) with an emotional final scene.

The legendary broadcaster was shown on his hands and knees attempting to play and communicate with a blind baby rhino.

Attenborough revealed to viewers that a possible cataract operation may save the rhino's sight, which could in turn mean that they would be able to release the animal back into the wild.

Earlier in the episode, the naturalist had shown the release of another orphaned rhino called Elvis.

Africa Episode 6 (The Future)

The final episode of Africa focused on the future of the continent and examined the dangers ahead for wildlife because of man-made problems such as global warming and habitat encroachment.

Attenborough's Africa is available on DVD from February 18.
