Reality show to form new Hot Gossip
Published Friday, Apr 27 2007, 09:17 BST | By Dave West
A BBC reality series is to find performers to make up a new version of 1970s dance group Hot Gossip.
Arlene Phillips, who was the original member of the troupe, and is currently a Strictly Come Dancing judge, will front Dance X.
She and fellow judge and choreographer Bruno Tonioli are looking for males and females who fancy themselves as dancers.
The original act often appeared on television, mostly the Kenny Everett Show, although they failed to launch a successful music career.
“We’re looking for good-looking, confident people who can strut their stuff," a source told The Sun. “They’ve also got to be team players as they’ll be dancing as part of a troupe.
"We’re confident of finding some great people as there’s a big appetite for dancing in Britain nowadays.”
Auditions are due to travel around the country from next month.
