Angie Watts is to return to Albert Square... in a coffin, according to The Sun.
The character, played by Anita Dobson between 1985 and 1988, will be killed off as a result of alcohol abuse. She will not be seen on-screen, however, after Dobson refused to make a return to the show.
The storyline will pave the way for adopted daughter Sharon to return to the Square, who fled at Christmas after Phil found out about daughter Louise.
An insider told the newspaper: “It was clear Anita wouldn’t return, so her death seemed an ideal opportunity to bring Sharon back to the Square. Viewers will soon see the last of Angie. The scenes will be very exciting.???
