Male 'Grease' contestants vow to shape up
Published Saturday, May 5 2007, 16:05 BST | By Daniel Kilkelly
Grease Is The Word's male hopefuls are finally trying to get fit following criticism from the show's judges.
The contestants have been doing daily lengths of the swimming pool and decided to convert the lounge into a gym in an effort to prove to judges that they have the stamina required to play Danny for eight weeks in the West End.
"A number of the boys have been told that they need to shape up, and it’s only this week that I’ve noticed they’ve started to take that seriously," dance choreographer Stacey Haines explained. "After we banned them from eating fast food and asked them to improve their diets and I’ve certainly noticed a raise in stamina levels this week."
Grease Is The Word airs at 7.40pm tonight on ITV1.
