'Death in Paradise' series finale triumphs over FA Cup football

The series finale of BBC One's Death in Paradise beat ITV's FA Cup coverage on Tuesday, February 26, according to overnight data.

Starring Ben Miller and Sara Martins, the 9pm drama's second run wrapped up with 6.09m (25.4%), while FA Cup football averaged 3.01m (12.9%).

Elsewhere, BBC Two aired Great British Menu (2.02m/8.9%), Alex Polizzi: The Fixer (2.07m/8.9%) and The Railway: Keeping Britain on Track (1.72m/7.2%).

Supersize v Superskinny was watched by 1.71m (7.4%) from 8pm on Channel 4 with 250k (1%) on timeshift. It was followed by 9pm's Secrets of the Pickpockets with 2.38m (9.9%) and 368k (2.2%) on +1.

Shameless managed 1.54m (9.1%) from 10pm (+1: 207k/2.4%).

Channel 5's Benidorm ER drew in 1.11m (4.8%) in the 8pm hour, with CSI and CSI: NY airing afterwards with 1.31m (5.5%) and 675k (3.9%) respectively.

Overall, BBC One's primetime share of 24.1% bested ITV's 13.8% (+1: 0.4%). BBC Two's 7.9% edged Channel 4's 7.4% (+1: 1%), while Channel 5 finished fifth with 4.2% (+1: 0.4%).

On the multichannels, ITV3's Lewis averaged 856k (3.6%) from 8pm.
