The channel announced today that it has won the rights to air the mini-series, which has attracted huge US audiences.
The five-part drama, created by three-time Emmy Award winner Mark Burnett, will air in the UK this autumn.
Marie-Claire Dunlop, Acquisitions & Channel Manager for Channel 5, said: "The show has been nothing short of a sensation, watched by millions of people in the States.
"To have it on Channel 5 is incredibly exciting - these are stories that can't fail to draw you in."
The Bible retells famous stories from Genesis to Revelation, including the crucifixion and resurrection of Jesus.
The History series attracted controversy in the US when it was accused of using an actor that looked like Barack Obama to play Satan.
However, The Bible's executive producers Burnett and Roma Downey said the claims that any similarity was intentional were "false" and a "foolish distraction".
