Crossroads to be axed?

Nick Elliott, ITV's head of drama, has indicated that Crossroads will be axed if ratings fail to improve within the next three months.
"We'll look at it across the spring," he told the Media Guardian. "It depends on how it does. If it gets a bit of spring in its ratings it could go on."
The soap is safe until September this year; a final decision on its future after this time will be taken in the Summer. Earlier this week, the introduction of three new characters were announced to coincide with its first anniversary.
