Liam Gallagher has confirmed that his band Beady Eye will perform on The X Factor.

The frontman previously branded the singing competition "f**king annoying" but said that his group will be promoting their music on the show.

Gallagher told The Mirror: "We're doing X Factor, I think it's to be on one of the live shows. I don't care man, we're rock and roll stars and you can't argue that's a huge audience. You have to take that opportunity."

He also gave his opinion on One Direction, saying: "I mean, they're not rock stars, are they? Harry's alright, though. I met him the Olympics and I just said to him, 'Keep on keeping on'.

"He knows what happening, but he's nothing like me. I'm a proper rock and roll star."

Gallagher's brother Noel recently turned down a judging role on The X Factor.

He previously said: "I think they think that because my tour's finished I'm going to be bored, but I'm never going to be that bored. Sharon Osbourne gets £1.5 million for it, I've heard. If she's worth one and a half, what am I worth? Three? Three and three quarters?

"I've not got anything against the show, I just don't want to be on the telly every Saturday night. F**k that."

He added: "You may be aware, I've got a slight case of Tourette's syndrome and I would just end up saying to Louis Walsh, 'Will you shut up, you c**t!'"
