'Britain's Got Talent' third semi-final attracts 8.5m on ITV

Britain's Got Talent returned to easily top the ratings outside of soaps for ITV, overnight data reveals.

An average of 8.52 million viewers (37.5%) saw Luminites and Pre-Skool move into next week's grand final from 7.30pm, while a further 284,000 (1.2%) tuned in on +1.

The results show was seen by 7.52m (32.3%) at 9.30pm (306k/2.0% on +1), while Britain's Got More Talent entertained 788k (4.4%) at 10pm on ITV2.

On BBC One, Watchdog attracted 3.01m (13.0%) at 8pm, followed by Crimewatch with 3.28m (14.0%) at 9pm. Question Time brought in 2.45m (21.1%) at 10.45pm.

BBC Two's Locomotion with Dan Snow grabbed 1.22m (6.0%) at 7pm, while Springwatch was seen by 2.29m (9.9%) at 8pm.

Henry VII: Winter King educated 2.05m (8.6%) at 9pm. The final Watson & Oliver amused 680k (3.5%) at 10pm.

On Channel 4, Tony Robinson's Britain's Stone Age Tsunami brought in 1.00m (4.3%) at 8pm (192k/0.8%), followed by Human Swarm with 1.02m (4.3%) at 9pm (350k/2.0%).

Channel 5's broadcast of Will Smith movie Bad Boys thrilled 689k (3.6%) at 9pm.

On BBC Three, Russell Howard's Good News continued to rise to 899k (4.6%) at 10pm. Family Guy peaked at 742k (8.0%) at 11.30pm.

E4's The Big Bang Theory was the most-watched show on the multichannels with 949k (4.2%) at 8pm (516k/2.2%), while How I Met Your Mother tickled 674k (2.8%) at 8.30pm (250k/1.1%).
