Pop Idol: Hear'Say manager keen on 2nd series

Chris Herbert, manager of Hear'Say - the band created by Popstars - wants to be involved in a second series of ITV's new smash Pop Idol, according to World Pop.

"The ratings share for Pop Idol proves another show would work well," he told the website. "It's pub talk, isn't it? Everyone likes to chew the fat about who should win. I'd love to be involved in another show. People say it isn't a credible way to enter the industry but credibility is about selling records if you're a pop star. The Pop Idol route is one way into the business. There'll always be manufactured bands. The audience who watch these shows will always buy the records."

Gareth is his tip for the eventual winner, he added. "As soon as I saw him at the first audition with his sister I knew he'd be a strong contender. But I think Will has a good chance too."
